The Williams Family
Those of you who know me will know that I am a passionate supporter of England Rugby.
So it may come as a shock to learn that I married a lady with a surname that she shares with so many players that have caused England grief over many years - albeit players that I have sneaky admiration for - such as JPR Williams and JJ Williams.
But its true .... my beautiful wife's maiden name is Janice WILLIAMS.
The Williams family arrived in North East England from Wales.
Like so many other Welsh families they came to work in the coalfields.
Janice's father Raymond Williams was born in Trimdon, County Durham. He 'escaped' the dangers of the Durham pits to become an air-gunner with 75 NZ Squadron, part of a Lancaster bomber crew during World War 2.
